"You never find yourself until you face the truth." ~Pearl Bailey (1918-1990)

I love having write your life right sessions. I declare it is one of the most provocative things I have done with my life.  But there are a few things that I have noticed over the last 7 months.  Some people have a lot of excuses reasons for being where they are in life.  And most of the time I feel it is ... okay, I won't sugar coat it. It's a lie. We tell ourselves these lies to feel better about our situations.

I did it and you may be doing it.

This "censoring" or "lies of omission" hinders the healing process. me when I say, we aren't judging you.  I try to put my clients at ease by sharing my story with them. I am as open and vulnerable as I can possibly be. I am setting the stage for clients to reciprocate. This honesty is important for three reasons (of course there are more-- but here are the main three).  It gives your teacher/therapist/counselor the opportunity to help you, aids in processing the core emotions, and it allows you to heal.  Yes, complete honesty may be hard, and a little hurtful --but it is needed.  I remember the first time I wrote my life right. Tears were everywhere.  But once I did it; once I wrote all of the things I didn't want to admit-- the hard truths that required me to open my mind and heart-- the tears started mending my broken spirit.  I was able to see everything for what it was and not simply what I wanted it to be.  It was beautiful.  It was wonderful. I was able to take responsibility for my actions, learn from my mistakes, and offer myself some solace. I forgave myself for some of my negative thoughts and released a lot of the shame, anger, and pain I had been harboring in my little heart.  My truth set me free. For those who do the work, it is an exhilarating experience.

First, I would like to say welcome to Ms. Danielle Moore - the new digital and new media assistant. She manages the Twitter, Facebook pages, and the blog. You will recognize her name on many of the Good Morning Beautiful People messages; she has taken to them like a fish in water.  Be sure to stop by and say hello. Her spirit has been refreshing and a joy to be around. I am really glad she has joined the team.

This month has been full of dreams coming true. You best believe that every dream has been written down and I can check them off the list.  What are you dreaming about right now? And what is holding you back from making that dream come true? Remember:  Write it down!

A year ago, I was sitting in my friends' apartment wondering how my life went off course and what I could do to change it.   So much has changed since that day.  I set out on a new adventure...to live life to the fullest.  I knew that things needed to change and I had to push fear to the wayside.  I wrote down my goals and one by one they have come into fruition:

1. I took the GRE and did very well.
2. I was accepted into my graduate program of choice.
3. I moved to Seattle, Washington.
4. I got a full time job within the first two weeks I was here and it  pays 3 times more than what  I was making before.
5.  I found an apartment that was safe, affordable, close to public transportation, and easy to get in/out of downtown and my job.
6. I moved myself away from people who didn't believe in me or support the vision I have for my life.
7. I stopped asking for permission to live my own life.
8. I started connecting with my Higher Self on a regular basis.
9. I launched Write Your Life Right.
10. I conducted workshops and took on private clients.
11. I actually earned money while doing something I love!!!!
12.  I travelled to Washington, DC -- 2 times! ( *Yay* I love that place!)
13.  And I found my passion!

Life is so good! Living in Seattle has given me the inspiration to fulfill the work that I know my soul yearns to do - encouraging people to give themselves permission to live out their soul's dream. Here's to another year of fabulousness!
